Speech & Language Therapy
Our clinicians are trained to address a wide range of communication impairments, including but not limited to:

Therapy sessions are typically 30-minutes long and most often occur 1-2 times per week, although frequency varies according to the individual needs of the client.
Orofacial-Myofunctional Therapy
Orofacial myofunctional therapy (OMT) is a specialized therapeutic approach that targets neuromuscular re-education. It encompasses the use of exercises, both active and passive, to improve the proprioception, tone and mobility of the oral, facial, and neck muscles (including but not limited to resting tongue posture, palatal growth, jaw stability, and overall facial growth. It is often done in conjunction with other professionals, using a multii-disciplinary team approach to treat the “whole system”, as opposed to viewing and treating symptoms through only one lens. Other professionals may include maxillo-facial surgeons, airway dentists, orthodontists, osteopaths, chiropractors, occupational therapists, physical therapists, craniosacral therapists, or lactation consultants.
OMT can help with a variety of conditions, including but not limited to:
- Speech
- Swallowing
- Breathing
- Sleep Apnea
- Dentition (in Conjunction with Airway Dentistry and/or Orthodontics)
- Oral Habits
- Pre-Frenectomy/Post-Frenectomy Care
Feeding Therapy
Our feeding and swallowing therapists are experienced in a wide range of disorders associated with complex feeding issues, including but not limited to:
- Gastrointestinal Disease
- Failure to Thrive
- G-Tube Dependency
- Medically Fragile Children
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Sensory Processing Disorder
- Food Aversion
A multi-disciplinary team approach is made possible through our well-established relationships with a wide range of related specialists who work as consultants to our program. This may include an occupational therapist, registered dietician, and a behavioral health specialist.
Evaluations
Speech, language, myofunctional, and feeding evaluations are available, and appointments are usually available within 2 to 3 weeks of initially contacting us. Depending upon the nature of the assessment, multiple evaluation sessions may be necessary.
Parent Classes
Parent training sessions are available for families in need of assistance managing complex feeding issues at home. Classes are often coupled with traditional feeding and swallowing services to “bridge” therapy from the clinic to home. Consultative services are also available for families looking for a feeding specialist to consult with their EI home-based team or their school-based team.
Professional Development Workshops
(Offered to School Districts, Private Schools, and Preschools)
We offer a variety of school-based professional development courses. Topics include (but are not limited to):
